Today, we had the honor of speaking with Angela Kimble, a devoted mother of two young men with autism who actively empowers and connects with other special needs moms in the Houston Greater Area. Angela collaborates with various organizations and serves as the Transition Ambassador for Café Azul Tx Autism.
When asked about her vision for the
future, Angela shared her admirable mission of equipping as many women as possible with the tools they need to advocate for their children's special needs rights. As a special needs parent herself, Angela understands the unique challenges and journey that only another special needs parent can comprehend. Despite facing obstacles every day, Angela and her family make it work for them.
Angela's motivation for her community work is driven by the joy she experiences in seeing the relief on women's faces when they receive the help they need.
Her goal as a volunteer is to educate and inform her community about autism, recognizing that it's not easy to balance a job, household, and raising special needs children while volunteering. Angela's secret to achieving balance is compartmentalizing her time to focus solely on the task at hand.
Lastly, Angela candidly shared that her source of inspiration is her sons. Despite their
diagnosis and the doctors' initial predictions, her sons have accomplished so much on their own, making them two of the toughest people she knows. To all the special needs moms out there, Angela advises them to take a moment to pray and ask for patience when feeling overwhelmed, assuring them that it does get better later on. Angela's dedication and passion for supporting special needs families is truly inspiring.
