CATX: What is the name of your organization?

The Name of my organization is CJ Autism Foundation

CATX:What is the vision of your organization ?

Our vision is to bring acceptance and awareness to our community for the differently- able population.

CATX: What inspired you to start your organization?

My Son Carlos Carr Jr. (C.J.) inspired me to start my organization. He is the Why of my life.

CATX: What are some obstacles or difficulties you have faced?

Some obstacles or difficulties I have faced was consistency and trying to get parents to bring their differently-abled children out to events. I understand we all go through that stage of fear in the beginning, but once we start to bring them around other differently-abled people it's a sense of being calm and happy. I have seen it so many times.

CATX: What has been the most rewarding moment as a Community Leader?

The Love and the happiness I see when giving back to the community and just making a difference.

CATX: What would you like to achieve with your organization in the near future?

I want to inspire more than just my local community. I would like to inspire and reach others worldwide. I want to let other special needs families know that you are not alone.

CATX: How do you balance work, home and comminity work?

I have a supportive family and friends that help out when we have events. I work from home so that is a big plus in my life.

CATX: Who is someone you admire and why?

A person that I greatly admire is Shaquille O'Neal. I see how much he loves people and how much he gives back to his community. One day ,I pray I can be able to give back to the community the way he does or even more. Just to be a blessing!

CATX: What will you say to other Special Needs Mom that feel overwhelmed?

I put God 1st and pray about everything. We go through so much as special needs parents, we need God in our lives and have other special moms to reach out and talk with.
